As I write this my hands still have the shakes from the $12 combo of medium popcorn/medium Cherry Coke which I decided to eat in lieu of breakfast at a 10 am matinee. Or it could be that I just walked out of the craziest muthaf#$%ing comic book movie I have ever seen! The film in question (if you haven’t figured out how or why you clicked the link to this review) is Deadpool (2016).

Why all the cussing in this review? Because it is apropos given the movie. Not for the young-uns. This is as hard R as they come. The movie pulls no punches from jump street allowing Ryan Reynolds to do what he does best, quip and joke and feed everyone he meets a sarcasm sandwich with pitch perfect comedic timing. A labor of love for Reynolds (and a re-do after the Wolverine thing), he is having more fun on screen than I have ever seen any actor have in quite a while.

(That said, I cannot stress enough, do not bring the kids! I think you may actually have social services waiting outside the theater if you do. Full frontal, and back and everywhere in-between, you would will be having “the talk” with your child well before the internet has a chance to do it for you.)
If I haven’t been clear, this is one of the smartest, dirtiest, violent, funny, (some other descriptive words) movies to hit the cinemas in a long time. A recommend on all fronts, this is gonna be the comic movie to beat in 2016. But be your own critic, do yourself a favor and watch Deadpool. Now if you’ll excuse me, my chimichangas are ready. Enjoy!
